The Graduate Institute of Art Studies at National Central University, established in 1993, was the first master's program in Taiwan to emphasize both modern and contemporary Eastern and Western art history. Over the years, the institute has been dedicated to cultivating young scholars with a strong foundation in art history, as well as multifaceted professionals in the arts and culture field. Located in the tranquil environment of the Faculty of Arts, the institute complements the departments of literature, philosophy, history, and teacher training, and collaborates closely with the Arts and Culture Center. Students from diverse backgrounds receive training in art history knowledge and skills under this excellent academic environment, expanding their interdisciplinary knowledge. To date, over two hundred graduates have excelled and gained recognition in academia, education, the public sector, publishing, and the arts. Alumni in various professional positions provide a strong network for the institute, assisting current students in broadening their career horizons.
