The Department of English and American Literature at National Central University was re-established in Taiwan in May 1970. Originally named the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, it is now known as the Department of English and American Literature, and a master's program was added in 1994. The department boasts a strong faculty, abundant academic vitality, diverse and in-depth research fields, and innovative curriculum, conducting interdisciplinary research and teaching in the humanities that balances new and old perspectives.

- Chinese proficiency certificate at CEFR A2 (Waystage) or above : Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL): Band A Level 2
- Related Academic Publications
- Autobiography, CV, Research Proposal, and One sample paper (2500-3000 words) needs to be written in English.
