A major in Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NREM) from Ball State University requires 60 or 61 credits, dependent on the choice of your NREM Major Concentration. NREM Core Foundational and Required Courses (26 credit hours total) NREM 101 – Environment and Society (3 credits) CHEM 111 – General Chemistry 1 (4 credits) NREM 201 – Undergraduate Seminar (1 credit) NREM 211 – Water Resources (3 credits) NREM 221 – Soil Resources (3 credits) NREM 241 – Air Resources (3 credits) NREM 286 – Computer Applications (3 credits) OR NREM 372 Applied Research Methods NREM 331 – Energy & Mineral Resources (3 credits) NREM 405 – Integrated Resource Management (3 credits) The Natural Resources and Environmental Management department offers two concentration tracks equipping students with the fundamental knowledge needed by professionals in natural resources or environmental fields.
