The field of professional activity of graduates in the direction of training "Biotechnology" includes:

-research, obtaining and application of enzymes, viruses, microorganisms, cell cultures of animals and plants, products of their biosynthesis and biotransformation;

-Creation of technologies for obtaining new types of products, including products obtained using microbiological synthesis, biocatalysis, genetic engineering and nanobiotechnology;

-development of scientific and technical documentation and technological regulations for the production of biotechnological products;

-realization of biotechnological processes and production In accordance with the observance of legislative and regulatory national and international acts;

-organizing and carrying out quality control of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products.

The objects of professional activity of graduates in the direction of training "Biotechnology" are:

-microorganisms, cell cultures of animals and plants, viruses, enzymes, biologically active chemical substances;

-devices and equipment for research of properties of used microorganisms, cell cultures obtained by biosynthesis of substances produced in laboratory and industrial conditions;

-biomasses, installations and equipment for carrying out biotechnological processes;

-means of quality control of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products;

-regulations for the production of biotechnology products, international standards.

 Master in the direction of training "Biotechnology" to the following types of professional activities:

 -pedagogical.

Specific types of professional activities, for which the graduate is mainly prepared, should determine the content of his educational program, developed by the university on the basis of the relevant professional standard (if available) or in conjunction with interested employers.

Master in the direction of training "Biotechnology" should solve the following professional tasks in accordance with the types of professional activities:

In the field of research activity:

-selection, processing and analysis of scientific, technical and patent information on the subject of research using specialized databases with the use of information technologies, including Internet technologies;

-search and development of new effective ways of obtaining biotechnological products, creation of modern biotechnologies, including nanobiotechnologies, technologies of recombinant deoxyribocucleic acids (DNA), cell technologies;

-Separation, identification and analysis of biosynthesis and biotransformation products, obtaining new strains-producers of biological drugs;

-study of biochemical and biological regularities of biosynthesis processes, micro- and macrostoichiometry, micro- and macrokinetics of growth of microorganism populations and cell cultures, interaction of microorganisms, viruses with cells, metabolic pathways and features of substrate utilization and synthesis of metabolic products;

-experimental study of biological and physicochemical kinetics at all stages of the technological process and their mathematical description;

-preparation of scientific and technical reporting documentation, analytical reviews and references, documentation for participation in competitions of scientific projects, draft pharmacopoeial articles (state standards), publication of scientific results, intellectual property protection.

In the field of production and technological activities:

-organization, planning and management of operating biotechnological processes and production;

-Ensuring effective operation of control, automation and automated control of biotechnological production;

organization and implementation of measures on energy and resource saving, ensuring environmental safety of biotechnological processes;

-provision of chemical-technical, biochemical and microbiological control;

-coordination of works on implementation of scientific research results in biotechnological production;

-operation of complex experimental and industrial installations;

In the field of organizational management:

-organization of the work of the team in the conditions of the existing

production, planning of personnel work and labor remuneration funds;

-conducting technical and economic analysis of production and preparation of technical and economic documentation;

-development and realization of quality management system of biotechnological products;

-organization of material and technical support of biotechnological productions, storage and accounting of raw materials, materials and finished product in the established order;

-Ensuring technological discipline, sanitary and hygienic mode of operation of the enterprise, maintenance of technological equipment in proper technical condition;

In the area of project activities:

-design of pilot, pilot and industrial plants of modern biotechnological production;

-Reconstruction and modernization of existing biotechnological processes and production facilities;

-modeling and optimization of processes and apparatuses of microbiological synthesis;

-technological calculation of equipment, selection of standard and design of non-standard biotechnological equipment;

-development of biological methods for utilization of industrial waste and harmful substances, creation of closed technologies, development of methods and biomonitoring, solution of other problems related to environmental protection.

In the field of pedagogical endeavors:

-preparing and conducting various types of training sessions with students in specialized disciplines;

-development of educational and teaching materials, including in electronic form;

-supervising research work of students;

-training of secondary technical personnel in production.

Graduates of higher education institutions, who have fully mastered the basic educational program of higher professional education on Master's degree and successfully passed the state final certification in the established order, are awarded a diploma of higher education with the qualification "Master".

The normative term of mastering the basic educational program of higher professional education training in the direction of "Biotechnology" on the basis of Bachelor's degree at full-time study is not less than 2 years, which corresponds to at least 120 credits.
