The area of professional activity of graduates in the direction of Biotechnology includes:

- obtaining, research and application of enzymes, viruses, microorganisms, cell cultures of animals and plants, products of their biosynthesis and biotransformation;

- technologies for obtaining products using microbiological synthesis, biocatalysis, genetic engineering and nanobiotechnology;

- operation and quality management of biotechnological production facilities, in compliance with the requirements of national and international regulations;

- organization and quality control of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products.

The objects of professional activity of graduates in the direction 720200 Biotechnology are:

- microorganisms, cell cultures of animals and plants, viruses, enzymes, biologically active chemical substances;

- instruments and equipment for research of properties of used microorganisms, cell cultures, substances obtained with their help in laboratory and industrial conditions substances in laboratory and industrial conditions;

- installations and equipment for carrying out biotechnological processes;

- means of quality control of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished goods products;

- means of environmental assessment and protection of the environment from the impact of industrial production.

Tasks of professional activity of bachelor graduates.

          design:

-collection of initial data for the design of technological processes and installations;

-calculation and design of individual stages of the technological process using standard means of design automation;

-participation in the development of design and working technical documentation;

-control of conformity of developed projects and technical documentation to standards, technical conditions and other regulatory documents.

research and creative:

- studying research-creative information, domestic and foreign experience in the field of development of new style solutions of products;

- analyzing the quality indicators of the objects of activity using standard methods and means of research;

- development of plans, programs and methods of research of real and ideal objects as part of a creative team;

- participation in conducting experiments according to the given methods, processing and analyzing the results, describing the performed creative research in the work of report writing, implementing the results of creative research and development in practice.

          Organizational and management:

- Development of operational plans for primary production units;

- participation in preparation of technical documentation (work schedules, technological instructions, safety instructions, requests for materials and equipment, business correspondence documents);

- collection and preparation of initial data for selection and justification of scientific, technical and organizational decisions on the basis of economic analysis;

- preparation of documentation and participation in realization of the enterprise quality management system;

- preparation for certification of technical means, systems, processes, equipment and materials;

production and technological:

- management of separate stages of operating biotechnological processes with the use of automated systems;

- organization of workplaces, their technical equipment, placement of technological equipment;

- organization and carrying out of input control of raw materials;

- use of standard methods of quality control of manufactured products;

- participation in works on finalization and mastering of technological processes in the course of preparation of production of new products;

- checking the technical condition and residual resource of equipment, organizing preventive inspections and current repairs, preparing requests for equipment and spare parts, preparing technical documentation for repair work.

   Graduates of universities, who have fully mastered the basic educational program of higher professional education in Bachelor's degree and successfully passed the state final certification in the prescribed manner, are awarded a diploma of higher education with the qualification "Bachelor".

   The normative term of mastering the basic educational program of higher professional education training of Bachelors in the direction of "Biotechnology" on the basis of secondary general or secondary vocational education in full-time education is not less than 4 years, which corresponds to at least 240 credits.
