The Master of Applied Psychology (Professional) is a highly competitive entry program and was developed to extend the professional training opportunities for Psychologists in Australia. This course includes coursework, practicum, and research components. This course requires candidates to undertake two practicums which may include seeing clients within the University clinics or a workplace internship practicum within the candidate’s own workplace (by arrangement with the practicum co-ordinator). This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) within the newly developed 5+1 training pathway. The course is also recognized by Psychology Board of Australia and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

  • Hold a recognised and accredited Bachelor of Arts degree (or Bachelor of Science degree) with at least 2A Honours in Psychology or a Postgraduate/Graduate Diploma in Psychology;
  • Provide referee reports and a personal statement that entails past accomplishments, future plans, and interests in the graduate psychology program; 
  • May be required to attend an interview.
