In this Marine Biology major, students will develop a detailed understanding of the biota and ecological processes of marine environments. Students will study the diversity of marine life, as well as the interactions between species and between the biota and the physical environment, with a strong emphasis on fundamental biological principles and how these underpin successful marine management. Specialized units cover fish, wildlife populations and ecology, and this course incorporates opportunities for field work. Students may combine this Marine Science major with another major such as Environmental Science, Conservation and Wildlife Biology, Environmental Management and Sustainability, Marine Science, and Genetics and Molecular Biology.
