The Master of Development Studies is a practical professional degree focusing on the challenges of social, economic, and political development and poverty alleviation. This course emphasizes on the connection of development, politics and social and environmental sustainability, food and health security, international assistance, state building, conflict management, gender relations and other significant issues impacting development. A special unit is also incorporated in this course which consolidates everything candidates have learned in their course and gives them the opportunity to apply their learning to a practical issue. Within this capstone unit, candidates can choose to undertake either a policy case study project, professional internship or supervised research thesis.
