In this course students will learn about the structure and function of the molecules that are fundamental to life: DNA, RNA, proteins and metabolites. Students will get the most up-to-date knowledge and training in molecular genetics, including the techniques involved in gene technologies, and learn the software tools needed to solve problems at the molecular level. These techniques have widespread application in all aspects of modern biology, including medicine, forensic science, conservation biology and agriculture. Students can combine Molecular Biology with another major, such as Biomedical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Conservation and Wildlife Biology or Forensic Biology and Toxicology.
