The Master of Music (MMus) is a two-year full-time programme designed for those who have just completed a qualifying Bachelor of Music or appropriate university-level studies (in Singapore or overseas) and wish to advance their professional studies in music at YST. YST’s MMus programme seeks to promote higher-level music study in the individual’s Major area, develop instrument-specific as well as group pedagogy capacities that are relevant in Singaporean and international music education communities, and facilitate professional learning that is needed for success in the music industry. Students emerge with strong competence in their Major area and deeper knowledge of music interpretation, experience in high-level ensemble involvement (often in leadership roles), theoretical and applied understanding in pedagogy and workshop leadership, and greater communication and professional abilities across a variety of contexts.
