The general objective of this program is to train professionals specialized in sustainable local development processes, with a theoretical-practical domain of policies, local strategies and cooperation values within the framework of citizen participation and the socio-economic development of the localities. Through this program, students learn to systematically deepen and specialize knowledge related to planning and land use planning and the social and solidarity economy; and contribute to the solution of problems and tensions of the local economy through the planning of local and regional development and the social and solidarity economy, the management of sustainable development projects, the interpretation of territorial structures and dynamics, the promotion of spaces of meeting and exchange of knowledge, the integration of social, economic, political actors and public, private and academic participation in favor of life in the territory.

The Master's program in Local Development, mentions: Planning, Development and Land Management; and Social and Solidarity Economy is aimed at professionals with a third level degree registered in the National Information System of Higher Education of Ecuador, preferably in: administration, finance, Accounting, economics, journalism, communication, law, civil engineering, industrial engineering , environmental engineering, architecture, sociology, anthropology, tourism, education, computer systems.
