The goal of the Genetics and Development (GD) track is to enable students to acquire a high level of expertise in the fields of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and animal development. This knowledge will allow students to better understand the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms that control the development of higher eukaryotic organisms and ensure the functioning of their immune system.

This track, derived from the Master of Life Sciences, focuses on mastering the fundamental principles of initiating cellular and tissue morphogenesis, as well as their dysregulation, which can lead to pathologies. In the first and second years of the Master's program (M1 and M2), core and elective courses take place in the first semester so that students can complete two extended research laboratory internships, allowing them to put the knowledge acquired during their studies into practice.

The Genetics and Development track is distinguished by:

  1. A strong disciplinary teaching in genetics and development (6 compulsory modules over the two years of training)
  2. The choice of optional modules on topics complementary to the specific focus of the program (immunology, neurobiology, pathophysiology, aging, etc.)
  3. Significant practical training is provided through two extended laboratory internships (5 months in M1 and 6 months in M2), a distinctive feature of the Life Sciences Master's program.
