Presentation and objectives of the training
  • The STAPS degree with a specialization in Education and Motor Skills is aimed at students with a versatile profile combining a good level of sport with skills in several different sporting activities, a scientific culture, a good level of written and oral expression as well as a strong personal commitment.
  • The aim of this training program is to develop professionals capable of safely supervising, teaching, and leading physical, sporting, and artistic activities for groups of participants with an educational focus. The program specifically prepares students for competitive recruitment exams at the Bachelor's level (Bac +3): CAPEPS for Physical Education teacher, CRPE for Primary School teacher, and CPE for Senior Education Advisor. These exams allow students to pursue further professional development at the Master's level (INSPE).
  • The program equips students with the skills necessary to become teachers: mastery of subject matter, proficiency in written expression, understanding of learning processes, physical and expressive ease in front of a group, and the development of an educational approach (a desire to educate and transmit knowledge according to ethical principles, listening and communication skills, adaptability to diverse audiences, the ability to analyze, construct, and transmit knowledge, etc.). The STAPS Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Physical Education offers two tracks: a secondary school track (middle and high school) and a primary school track.
  • Upon completion of the program, students will be able to work within the institutional framework related to sports education professions, and more specifically, to work with diverse audiences in educational settings at introductory, maintenance, or recreational levels. They will be able to analyze the activity of participants by applying appropriate scientific and institutional knowledge, and design and implement a coherent intervention plan safely and effectively for the target audience.
