Training objectives

  • The STAPS degree in Education and Motor Skills is aimed at students with a versatile profile combining a good sporting level with skills in several different sporting activities, a scientific culture, a good level of written and oral expression as well as strong personal involvement.
  • The objective of the training is to train professionals capable of supervising, teaching and safely leading physical, sporting and artistic activities with groups of practitioners with an educational objective.
  • The training also helps the student acquire the skills necessary for practicing the teaching profession and preparing for teaching competitions: mastery of disciplinary knowledge, mastery of written expression, knowledge of learning processes, physical and expressive ease in front of a group, construction of an educational posture (desire to educate and transmit according to ethical principles, ability to listen and communicate, adaptability to different audiences, ability to analyze, construct and transmit knowledge, etc.). The STAPS degree with EM mention offers 2 courses: a 2nd degree course and a 1st degree course for students wishing to move towards teaching in schools.
  • At the end of the training, the student will be able to evolve within the institutional framework relating to sports professions and more specifically to intervention with any public in an educational structure for an initiation, maintenance or leisure level. He will be able to analyze the activity of the practitioner(s) by mobilizing the appropriate scientific and institutional knowledge, design and safely implement a coherent intervention project with regard to the public concerned.
