You will learn the traditional practices of dispensing and compounding medications and also be taught to give flu shots, take blood pressure, test blood glucose, communicate medical information in understandable language, assess a patient’s overall health, and more. The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) requires three years of pre-pharmacy studies followed by four years of professional education, regardless of prior degrees. With the changing landscape of health care, pharmacists are becoming more involved in patient care and as a result creating more career options.
