The degree also includes global aspects that are of increasing importance in today's diverse society. The programs and course offerings are designed to provide a basic understanding of economic concepts, institutions, processes, and problems; to foster critical and analytical methods of thinking; and to lay the foundation for further study of economics. The Department of Economics offers a major in specialized business economics. The business economics major combines courses in economics with those in accounting, finance, information systems, management, marketing, and quantitative business analysis. This unique array of courses leads to a B.S. degree and provides the student with both the general and specific skill desired by employers. The major in Business Economics requires 73 hours in professional and elective courses and leads to a Bachelor of Science degree.

Applicants must have a cumulative 2.50 GPA. Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL score of 525 on Paper-based test. Students can also prove English proficiency by completing ESLI or ELS Level 109.
