This program leads to the Bachelor of Science degree and the Kentucky Provisional Middle Grades Education (grades 5-9) certificate for teaching English/Language Arts and/or Social Studies. The program requires: A minimum of 44 semester hours of general education course work that includes a biological science course and physical science course. 37-40 semester hours of professional education courses: MGE 275, PSY 310, SPED 330, PSY 421 or PSY 422, LTCY 421, MGE 385, MGE 475 and/or MGE 481 (a methods course required for each area of certification), MGE 490, and EDU 489. A computer literacy course selected from: CIS 141 or LME 448. 200 clock hours of field experiences prior to student teaching. These hours are assigned during the professional education courses.
