The physical education movement studies major leads to a B.S. degree. The movement studies concentration expands the career options for physical education majors beyond the school setting. The program is specifically designed to prepare students to become a movement activity specialist in the private/business sectors. Students, who complete this program, may move to the teacher preparation concentration if they want to be certified in the teacher education program. Career Opportunities: The Physical Education Movement Studies program at WKU prepares students for a considerable number of occupations and professions. A wide variety of areas open to students in physical education: corporate wellness, fitness and wellness instructors, activity directors and a host of other occupations in the business community. Bachelor of Physical Education (Movement Studies Concentration): The Physical Education major (reference 587) with a Movement Studies Concentration, consists of 48 hours in physical education classes, and 46 hours of general education and other general electives, plus 25 hours of electives with concentration (13 hours) in Health Education and 12 hours of advisor approved electives at the 300-400 level, with no more than 6 hours in any one department.
