With the joint training seal of the Universities of La Frontera, Bío-Bío and Talca, you will be able to autonomously create and apply advanced knowledge in engineering, responding to the challenges of global industry, with the skills to lead applied research teams in industrial, university or Research, Development and Innovation (R+D+i) contexts.
The aim of the programme is to train a researcher with advanced specialisation in engineering, who is capable of developing and transferring technological innovation to the production and services sector, forming work teams to generate new knowledge, products, services, systems and processes that will enable them to contribute nationally and internationally, from engineering in one of the programme's lines of development and research.

Admission Requirements

Students who enter the PhD in Engineering have a minimum academic degree in Engineering Sciences or areas compatible with these, awarded by a university recognised in their respective countries as an institution of Higher Education. They also show interest in research in the area, preferably in the lines of development and research declared by the programme. They demonstrate an attitude of commitment and a permanent willingness to search for and update their learning and to study independently. In addition, they are willing to integrate work teams and have the ability to read and understand specialised texts in English and Spanish. Students have a proven command of the English language, equivalent to at least an intermediate level of reading and comprehension. Non-Spanish-speaking students have a proven level of oral and written Spanish.
Meet one of the following requirements:
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences or areas compatible with these. Hold a Master's degree in Engineering Sciences from an institution recognised by the Ministry of Education or its equivalent abroad.
