The PhD in Communication is a Joint Graduate Programme between the Universidad de La Frontera (Res. Ex. nº 4158, October 13, 2017) and the Universidad Austral de Chile (Decree nº 03, January 12, 2018), aimed at identifying new problems and developing research in the field of communication, from an interdisciplinary perspective, to contribute to the understanding of the problems associated with different contexts, both locally and regionally as well as nationally and internationally. In this sense, communication is understood as a field and not as a discipline; in such a way that different disciplines converge in this field, having culture as a framework. The Doctorate seeks to train PhDs with the capacity to carry out autonomous research in the field of communication, and to disseminate knowledge in this area to academic audiences.
