The development of the country requires a long-term development strategy, implemented on the basis of technology, science, innovation and entrepreneurship, with the purpose of changing the productive matrix. The Doctoral Programme in Engineering Sciences mention Bioprocesses of the Universidad de la Frontera was created in 2015 to contribute to the scientific-technological development in the area of bioprocesses in our country.
The programme is called to contribute to engineering science education, technological development and its subsequent transfer. The academic staff has a high scientific productivity, both from the point of view of the awarding of research projects, as well as from the perspective of the generation of scientific publications. In addition, its academics participate in the Scientific and Technological Nucleus in Bioresources (BIOREN-UFRO) whose mission is to strengthen multidisciplinary R&D in biological resources and bioprocesses associated with food production, environmental sustainability and human health.
The PhD in Engineering Sciences, mention in Bioprocesses at the Universidad de La Frontera aims to train researchers with the capacity to propose and carry out original and relevant research in some of the areas of research in environmental and food bioprocesses in an independent, collaborative and ethical manner, the results of which represent a contribution to knowledge.
