Birkbeck's MA Health and Clinical Psychological Sciences is designed for graduates with a background in psychology, neuroscience or health sciences, who want to deepen their understanding of cutting-edge contemporary research in health (including health psychology, applied neuroscience and neuropsychology) and the factors contributing to physical and mental health outcomes. Students will enhance their understanding of the methods and insights of contemporary health and clinical psychological sciences, including applied neuroscience. Students will develop their generic research skills, learn advanced quantitative and qualitative methods, and study how best to design and evaluate interventions. This programme focuses on mixed-method approaches. Each student will conduct a research dissertation within an area of contemporary psychology, which includes a literature review, formulating a research question, designing and running a study to address their research question, analysing the study’s results and presenting their study in a formal report.
