This innovative course draws together the disciplines of politics, philosophy and history in a unique combination and uses them to interrogate one another. The degree is unified by cross-disciplinary modules taught by members of all three contributing departments and taken by all of the students. In addition, students can choose option modules from a wide range of topics, such as the Third Reich, modern philosophy and the city in nineteenth-century Britain. The course prepares students to undertake a higher degree or to move into a career in education, the arts, politics or journalism. Graduates can pursue careers in local and national government, policy work, research or journalism. This degree may also be useful in becoming a diplomatic services operational officer, civil service fast-streamer, charity officer or newspaper journalist.
