The study of psychology offers literally endless possibilities. Our faculty’s commitment to academic excellence, our student-centered approach to learning, and focus on undergraduate research, provides an excellent foundation whether your plans include graduate school, medical or law school, or entering the private sector. Our students are given opportunities to learn about the field of psychology through fundamental course work in a variety of sub-disciplines while gaining valuable practical experience through a prescribed research component of the psychology curriculum. Additionally, through labs, internships, community service projects, and self-directed study options our students develop an understanding of not just theories and concepts, but the application of psychology in our daily lives. Major Requirements: PSYC 101 - Introduction to Psychology PSYC 201 - Research Methods and Statistics I PSYC 202 - Research Methods and Statistics II STAT 101 (or STAT 205 ) AND PSYC 200 may be substituted for PSYC 201 & 202. PSYC 204 - Personality PSYC 303 - Learning PSYC 322 - Psychology of Women and Gender or PSYC 323 - Cultural Psychology a Psychology Portfolio (PSYC 365 and PSYC 465) PSYC 398 /PSYC 399 OR PSYC 499 OR PSYC 501 a minor (or major) of the student's choice, the pre-law concentration, or a second major. Three of the following basic sub disciplines: PSYC 209 - Developmental Psychology PSYC 304 - Social Psychology PSYC 305 - Memory and Cognition or PSYC 314 - Biopsychology (Psychology 302 may be substituted for Psychology 314 ) Nine additional credits in Psychology: (a maximum of three credits each in Psychology 398-399 and 501 applicable to the major)
