The structure of the course is designed for students to acquire skills to: collect, select and interpret relevant information on security, identify risks and threats that weigh on people and property, identify, evaluate and analyze vulnerabilities political, economic, social and legal likely to threaten security; elaborate and implement contingency plans that could contribute to the prevention, mitigation or resolution of insecurity in society; define, quantify and justify the need and means to address threats to security, to know the public and private institutions and the human and technical resources that can be mobilized to intervene in situations of security threats. These basic skills must be complemented by the following general responsibilities discriminated. Building capacity to assess situations and decision by the student in order to provide: ability to solve problems, build and defend itself, ability to collect, select and interpret relevant information, for basing the remedies sought and the opinions given, including the analysis of relevant scientific, social and ethical relevance. Development of communication skills, which can transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to both the public constituted by specialists and by non-specialists. Development of learning skills, which enable lifelong learning, with a high degree of autonomy.
