The goal of the program is to train a highly qualified specialist, which includes the development of skills necessary for scientific and pedagogical activities. In particular, the graduate will know the methodology of conducting scientific research and will be able to independently conduct research on its basis, thereby contributing to the introduction of new knowledge in the field of law and the scientific development of the field of law. The graduate will have the ability to carry out pedagogical activities in higher educational institutions. As a result, the graduate of the program will be able to find employment in research and scientific organizations and institutes in the field of law as a scientist/researcher and/or in academic positions in higher educational institutions.

Admission Requirements

For admission to the Doctoral Program in Law, taking into account the scientific subject matter of the academic staff of the school, a competition is announced with an indication of the research topic. The doctoral program will be open to persons with a Master of Laws or an equivalent academic degree who present an international certificate confirming their proficiency in English at least at the B2 (Upper Intermediate) level, or a document confirming their studies in an English-language bachelor's/master's/doctoral program abroad, or who pass the English language exam for admission to the doctoral program of the University of Georgia, in which the minimum threshold of competence is 60% of the maximum mark. Applicants for admission to the program must submit a research concept completed in compliance with academic writing standards. When making a decision, the School Council takes into account: a) the candidate's research skills; b) the correspondence of the concept and topic to the scientific subject matter and resources of the school.
