The goal of the program is to prepare a highly qualified specialist with the ability to fully and purposefully apply ethical competence, theories, and research methods relevant to the integrative thinking space of philology in real practical research, who will be able to acquire and analyze knowledge relevant to a holistic view of the interdisciplinary dimensions of the thinking space of philology, in particular, the relationship between linguistics and literary studies, and to expand the boundaries of philological thinking by synthesizing the humanities (linguistics) and social sciences (social and cultural anthropology) in order to present phenomena important to society as structured domains; Generating and implementing/developing new knowledge, conducting innovative and integrative research on current problems of philology, preparing and conducting university lecture courses/courses taking into account modern standards of teaching/assessment.
A Doctor of Philology can be employed in scientific and research institutions, state and non-governmental structures, whose field of activity is related to the problems of modern philology, or carry out pedagogical activities in a higher educational institution.

Admission Requirements

The doctoral program will be open to candidates with a master's degree or equivalent academic degree in the humanities or social sciences who can provide a document proving their English language proficiency at least at the B2 (Upper-intermediate) level (an international certificate confirming English language proficiency; or a diploma/supplement or certificate confirming completion of an English-language bachelor's or master's program; or an internal university exam in English) and a research concept and successfully pass an interview in the specialty. When making a decision, the School Council takes into account: a) the candidate's research skills; b) the relevance of the concept and topic to the school's scientific topics and human resources.
