This degree offers pre-registration teaching in the specialist field of learning disabilities. You will be trained and assessed in the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Your time will be equally divided between study on campus, using facilities such as our four well-equipped clinical skills laboratories, and periods on placement. Our excellent links with the NHS and other care providers enable us to offer placements in a wide variety of institutional and community settings. Here you will learn multi-professional and collaborative working and be assessed by qualified practitioners. We will also prepare you to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
