Our midwifery degree will prepare you for a career as a registered midwife. You will learn to recognise the biomedical changes of pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the influences on the mental, social and emotional wellbeing of expectant mothers. In 2018, the quality of our teaching staff was recognised at the British Journal of Midwifery awards, with our midwifery team winning first prize for their contribution to midwifery education. We have strong links with placement providers in settings ranging from women's homes to hospitals and community clinics. We will prepare you to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and you will gain the skills needed to achieve the NMC Standards for Pre-registration Midwifery Education (2009).
