The Master of Fine Arts is offered with a choice of choreography emphasis or performance emphasis. Students must audition on campus in order to be admitted to the M.F.A. program. The Master of Fine Arts program in dance requires a minimum of 60 s.h. of graduate credit. The program is designed to be completed in four to six semesters in residence. Students who demonstrate accomplishment in dance performance and/or choreography may apply for admission to the M.F.A. program. The MFA in Dance is awarded by the Graduate College. The MFA is offered with an emphasis in choreography or performance. Career Advancement Graduates of the M.F.A. program are successful in pursuing professional careers in performance, choreography, and teaching in secondary and/or higher education.
