Under current legislation, the First Cycle Degree Course in Biology lasts 3 years and counts 180 credits. The course provides students with a theoretical background and operational tools as regards: biology of microorganisms, vegetal and animal organisms, including human beings at a morphological, morphological, functional, cellular and molecular level; the mechanisms of heredity and development; the presence and effects of living beings in the environment. The course programme includes the core subjects of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Sciences, Physics and Chemistry as well as activities developing biology laboratory skills. The course also includes a practical-applied internship either within or outside the university, under the guidance of a tutor.
