The PhD in History and Critical Theory of Art program aims to train researchers capable of generating knowledge and methodologies around art and culture, from Critical Theory and Art History, proposing critical analysis to influence change and social improvements. Specific objectives include: developing research on art as well as models and critical methodologies of application that allow understanding the complexity of the art system; building advocacy proposals on problems related to access, research, dissemination, conservation, administration and safeguarding of cultural assets, primarily artistic, containing strategies for the promotion of equity, democracy and universality in terms of the exercise of art and the enjoyment of its products; AND participating in interdisciplinary groups that favor the development of projects that have social impact in the field of History and Critical Theory of Art, as well as the dissemination of the results among diverse scientific communities and outreach to different sectors of society.
