The specialization aims to equip specialists with a robust understanding of cellular and systemic physiopathological processes to diagnose and comprehensively manage individuals with obesity and related health conditions. This involves applying the Nutritional Care Process and devising strategies in diet, physical activity, and healthy behavior promotion to enhance the well-being of children, adolescents, adults, and seniors grappling with obesity, all while considering socioeconomic contexts and prioritizing care for vulnerable groups. Specific objectives include: training professionals capable of conducting a comprehensive nutritional diagnosis for individuals affected by obesity and its associated health issues, spanning across different age groups; cultivating competencies in implementing the Nutritional Care Process to holistically manage overweight, obesity, and their comorbidities across various age demographics; AND innovating in crafting nutritional, dietary, physical activity, and health behavior promotion strategies tailored to individuals at risk of or diagnosed with obesity and its comorbidities. The specialization program, housed within the Health Department of Ibero, is a clinically oriented initiative with a focus on professional development. It offers the opportunity for collaboration with the master’s Program in Applied Nutrition, presenting a pathway for students interested in research.
