The PhD in Education program aims to train researchers with a humanistic vision and social conscience, who contribute to the development of educational policies and models that favor the quality of education offered to the various sectors of the population, especially those that affect the most vulnerable social sectors. Specific objectives include: identifying the factors that originate and determine the problems of the educational system and non-school processes in Mexico as well as in other Latin American countries; AND contributing to the development of conceptual frameworks that provide original explanations to educational problems, as well as alternative solutions to them.

 To be admitted into a graduate program, students must pass the Exam III (CENEVAL), which is an exam in Spanish required for admission. The exam may be taken at the IBERO or at CENEVAL centers throughout Mexico.

 International students who do not live in Mexico may take the exam after their arrival at the university on the first date the exam is offered at the university.
