The MD in Anesthesiology is a robust 3-year postgraduate program with an annual intake of 10 seats, designed to train specialists in perioperative care, critical care, and pain management.
Infrastructure: The department manages 20 Operation Theatres (13 Major and 7 Minor), including modular OTs and dedicated emergency suites for Trauma and Obstetrics. These are equipped with advanced Anesthesia Workstations, BIS monitoring, and MRI-compatible monitors.
Critical Care: Residents gain extensive experience managing 80 ICU beds, including Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro ICUs. The department is also responsible for the Central Sterilization Supply Department (CSSD) and the hospital's liquid oxygen plant.
Pain Management: A daily Pain Clinic provides training in interventional pain relief using fluoroscopy and Ozone Therapy .
Advanced Training: The curriculum includes a dedicated CPR Lab for ACLS/BLS training and the use of advanced airway equipment like Video Laryngoscopes and Fiberoptic Bronchoscopes .
