BNYS focuses on the body’s internal ability to heal itself without the use of synthetic drugs or surgery. It emphasizes the Panchamahabhuthas (five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether) and lifestyle modifications.

  • Duration: 5.5 Years (4.5 years of academic study + 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship).

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with at least 50% marks.

  • Admission Note: As per Ministry of AYUSH guidelines, NEET is not mandatory for admission to BNYS at Subharti University.

Curriculum & Core Modalities

The course bridges the gap between conventional medicine and holistic health by teaching subjects from both worlds:

  • Basic Medical Sciences: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology (to understand drug-body interactions).

  • Clinical Naturopathy:

    • Hydrotherapy: Using water at different temperatures/pressures for healing.

    • Manipulative Therapeutics: Advanced medical massage and joint mobilization techniques.

    • Dietetics & Nutrition: Using food as medicine to treat chronic conditions like diabetes and obesity.

    • Acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques for pain management and neurological disorders.

  • Yogic Sciences: Yoga Philosophy, Therapeutic Yoga (disease-specific asanas), Pranayama, and Meditation.

Clinical Training Infrastructure

Students at Subharti receive hands-on training at the 100-bedded Naturopathy & Yoga Hospital, which features specialized therapy units:

  • Hydrotherapy Section: Equipped with Deluxe Underwater Massage, Hip Baths, and Spinal Sprays.

  • Mud Therapy Unit: For detoxification and skin-related healing.

  • Yoga Studio: A dedicated space for practicing and teaching therapeutic yoga sequences.

  • Simulation Lab: A unique facility (first in the country) for practicing Acupuncture and Manipulative therapies before working with patients.

Career Scope

Graduates are entitled to use the prefix "Dr." and are registered as Class-A Medical Practitioners. Career paths include:

  • Naturopathy Physician: In private clinics, AYUSH hospitals, or wellness resorts.

  • Medical Officer (AYUSH): In government health centers and National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) projects.

  • Lifestyle Consultant: In corporate sectors, fitness centers, and luxury spas.
