Why Artificial Intelligence at ARU?
  • Gain skills in vital areas of AI, including machine learning algorithms, neural computing, deep learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Study in the Silicon Fen, known for its tech market and range of jobs in data science industry – the perfect opportunity to connect with top employers.
  • This course has been designed in response to the high demand for experts in machine learning, artificial intelligence learning, data analysis and modelling.
  • Experience hands-on learning with real-life data sets to practice skills required for the diverse AI industry.

In a world reliant on data to improve processes and monitor success, our Masters degree in Artificial Intelligence will help you gain the knowledge and skills to improve systems in your industry – or create better ones. It's been designed in response to the high demand for experts in data analysis and modelling.

Study at ARU in Cambridge and build on your existing skills. Our course is suitable for computer scientists, software engineers, IT professionals or established professionals in the areas of computing, mathematics and/or data analysis. Before starting the course, we strongly recommended that you have basic programming knowledge of Python.

As well as our 12 and 20 month full-time courses, there is also the option to study with us for two years and gain valuable experience in Year 2, with a choice of professional experience modules.

The combined effect of the big volume of data availability on a global scale and a significant increase in processing power offered by technologies like cloud computing has made it possible to unlock the true potential of machine learning algorithms, extract features from data, and to expand the application domain of artificial intelligence.

The need to adapt and incorporate the ever-growing field of AI and its technologies into current business practices is putting pressure on industries to invest in their legacy systems. Supported by Intel’s AI Academy through their online and data processing resources, the skills you'll learn can be applied to AI-enabled business strategies and marketing, management of database records, e-business technologies, IT system development and design, and IT project management.

While you're studying with us in Cambridge, we'll encourage you to attend local meetings and lectures organised by the IET and BCS, some of which are hosted by ARU. This exposes you to engineers from local industries and introduces you to 'what's hot' in technology.

If you do not have a degree in computing but are interested in studying this subject at postgraduate level, we also offer an MSc Applied Data Science. This conversion course will take you through the major building blocks of data science and help you graduate ready for a career in computing.
