Qualifications
  • 112-96 UCAS Tariff points. We accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, OCR, Access to HE and most other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff.
  • 3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths.
  • Applicants for whom English is not their first language and who are unable to provide evidence of being taught and examined through the medium of English are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. This can be via an Occupational English Test with a grade of C+ in writing and B in the reading, listening and speaking sections or an English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall score of 7 and at least a 6.5 in the writing section and 7 in the reading, listening and speaking sections.
  • To receive an offer of a place on this course you must be successful at interview.
  • A satisfactory Occupational Health clearance will also be required.
  • An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will also be required.

  • UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted.
  • All applicants to Nursing programmes holding the Access to Higher Education qualification will also require Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy unless you already hold GCSE grade C in Maths and English.
  • UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted.
  • UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are accepted, related subjects are preferred, a minimum of 60 guided learning hours must come from a Science unit.
  • UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted, related subjects are preferred.
  • UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted.
  • UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted, related subjects are preferred.
  • OU Credits will be accepted in lieu of A levels (90 credits will be expected in Health or Science subjects) plus 3 GCSEs including English and Mathematics at grade C or above (GCSE Science grade C or above desirable).
  • The NMC permits ARU to consider Accreditation for Prior Course or Experiential Learning for up to 50% of the BSc (Hons) Nursing course. If you have undertaken relevant prior study you can apply for this to be considered. Evidence of your previous study (listed below) will be required to assist in the mapping of your previous study to our course. Our team will review this & advise at which point of the course you would be eligible for entry. Please apply through UCAS for Advanced Entry, by selecting Year 2. Evidence required for consideration is as follows: 1. Your reasons for leaving your previous course. Evidenced in your personal statement. 2. Transcript and module information. 3. A reference from your previous course tutor. 4. Official confirmation of practice hours completed.
