Qualifications
  • 112-96 UCAS Tariff points. We accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, OCR, Access to HE and most other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff. Must include a grade C or above in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Psychology or PE.
  • 5 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English, Maths and Science. Level 2 English and mathematics will be accepted in lieu of GCSE English and maths.
  • If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 7.0 ( Academic level), or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
  • If you have already achieved your Access to HE results and are unsure if we can consider you, please contact us.
  • To receive an offer of a place on this course you must be successful at interview.
  • You should be aware that due to the demands of this role, some heavy lifting will be required.
  • A satisfactory Occupational Health clearance will also be required.
  • An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will also be required.
  • UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are accepted, related subjects are preferred, a minimum of 60 guided learning hours must come from a Science unit.
  • UCAS Tariff Points from Access to HE Diplomas in a Science or Health related subject are accepted. GCSE Maths and English required (or level 2 equivalents) if studying Access. GCSE Science is not required if you studying an Access to HE Diploma.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 28 points is accepted, this must include 5 points from a Science subject at Higher level.
  • OU Credits will be accepted in lieu of A levels (120 credits will be expected in health or science subjects).
  • UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted, related subjects are required.
  • UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted, related subjects are required.
  • UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted, science at Higher Level is required.
  • BTEC in Public Services and Uniformed Services is not accepted for entry to this course, but we are able to accept the points if combined with a suitable level 3 science course.
  • Please note, you can apply for deferred entry to our Chelmsford course only, we do not accept applications for deferred entry for our Cambridge course.


To join the first year of our undergraduate course you’ll need one of the following.
  • GCE A levels from a recognised UK examination board.
  • An International Baccalaureate with a minimum of 24 points.
  • A university foundation course recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
  • Relevant qualifications obtained in your home country: see our country-specific entry requirements.
  • For some courses there may be additional requirements, such as portfolios for art and design courses. These are outlined in our undergraduate course pages.
