The Bachelor of Criminal Justice equips students with the advanced skills and knowledge to work in any of a number of diverse fields. Through the practical application of studies, this course prepares people wanting to go into policing/law enforcement, probation and parole, juvenile justice, and work with refugees, criminal offenders, victims and their families – to really make a difference to people, communities and society at large. A field placement in a justice, welfare or community agency in either government or private sector not only provides valuable learning but may result in employment. You'll graduate with a diverse set of skills as you study a range of subjects including, public safety and security, criminology, sociology, psychology, philosophy, communication, policing/law enforcement and Indigenous studies. You can choose elective subjects that suit your career plans or current workplace.

Applicants for the Bachelor of Criminal Justice must meet the following Admission Requirements:

* A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent) with an ATAR of 60 (including adjustment factors)

OR

* Successful completion of two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.

OR

* A completed AQF Certificate III or higher level qualification.

OR

* 50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification

OR

* Successful completion of a Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.

OR

* Work experience, within the same industry as the course profile, of no less than two years full time or equivalence, demonstrated by a detailed resume.
