The four-year Bachelor of Psychology provides students with the minimum academic requirements to pursue a career as a psychologist. The Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) may also be used as a pathway to the Bachelor of Psychology for students who do not meet the initial entry requirements, as the ATAR (or equivalent) for entry into the Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) is lower. In addition to the compulsory psychology subjects, students will also complete subjects in sociology and a minor to enhance their study experience. Minors are available in a range of related disciplines including business, IT, history and politics, health and biology, justice studies, Indigenous studies and more. A broad choice of psychology electives are available, including Psychology of Crime, Health Psychology, Psychology of Substance Abuse, Psychology and the Legal System and Psychology of Stress and Trauma. Students may also be able to apply to complete a supervised experience at an international university.

Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

Admission to the Honours stream is based upon performance in the level 2 and 3 core PSY subjects.

Bachelor of Psychology

Applicants for the Bachelor of Psychology must meet the following Admission Requirements:

A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent) with an ATAR of at least 75 (including adjustment factors)
OR
Have completed at least 8 subjects or more of a Bachelor (or higher) level qualification with a GPA of 5.0.

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirement for the Bachelor of Psychology may be eligible for entry into CSU's Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology). This course is identical to the first three years (equivalent full-time) of the Bachelor of Psychology.  There is an established course transfer pathway between the Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) and the Bachelor of Psychology in the third year.

English Language Proficiency

An Academic IELTS with a minimum score of 6 with no individual score below 5.5 or a qualification deemed by CSU to be equivalent as outlined in the CSU Concordance Table.
