This course is offered ONLY to domestic students.The Bachelor of Veterinary Technology will give students the skills they need to become a veterinary technologist or paraprofessional across a range of settings, including working in a veterinary surgery, diagnostic labs, zoos, horse studs, cattle feedlots or the poultry industry. These are just some of the diverse areas the Bachelor of Veterinary Technology will prepare its graduates for – both across Australia and overseas. While studying with Charles Sturt University, you'll have access to various animal care facilities, such as paddocks, yards and stables on the campus farm, as well as our state-of-the-art laboratories and clinical facilities. The course has been developed in collaboration with representatives from veterinary practices; the pig, poultry and dairy industries; horse studs; animal welfare organisations and zoos to ensure what you're studying is highly relevant for your future career.

  • A completed High School Certificate with an ATAR of 70 (including adjustment factors) or equivalent.
    OR
    Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
    OR
    Successful completion of two University level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
    OR
    A completed AQF Certificate IV or higher level qualification.
    OR
    Documentary evidence of training e.g. related courses and a minimum of three years relevant work experience. Work experience must include a statement by the applicant addressing the types of work they have undertaken and the reason(s) for their interest in the course. A statement of support (recommendation) from an employer or a professional person is highly desirable.
