The Petroleum Engineering program is a three years program with options in the areas of specialization of petroleum reservoir engineering, drilling engineering and petroleum production engineering. In the first year consisting of two semesters, all the courses are taken and the second to third year is left for the thesis. Our laboratories are full equipped. The laboratories are drilling and mud laboratory, core laboratory, production laboratory and the PVT laboratory with the state of art equipment to conduct reservoir fluid analysis. The vision of the Department is to become a leading world-class Department of Petroleum Engineering that is committed to raising a new generation of industry-ready engineers known for their prowess in solving challenges presented by the constantly evolving oil and gas industry. And, the mission of the Department is to nurture readily employable graduates that are productive at entry-level positions in the Oil and Gas Industry who are well-grounded in the fundamentals of Petroleum Engineering as well as tools and applications in solving real-world challenges. Our graduates are employed in the academia, oil & gas industry, the banking sector, consulting firms, etc.

Admission Requirements

Candidates who seek a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Petroleum Engineering must possess a minimum of M.Eng Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Covenant University or from any other University recognized by the Senate of Covenant University with at least a CGPA of 4.0 out of 5.0, or an average score of 60%.
