The Ph.D program in Sociology lead to the award of a Ph.D degree in different areas of specialization including Industrial Sociology, Sociology of Development, Criminology, Gender and Development Studies, Demography and Social Statistics, Medical Sociology, Cultural Studies and Social Problems depending on the Candidates area of research interest. The Ph.D program can be completed within three(3) years. Admission is opened to candidates with a Masters Degree in Sociology with a minimum CGPA of 4.00 at graduation from a recognized University.

A minimum CGPA of 4.00 at graduation, the Candidate will be admitted into the Direct Ph.D program while a CGPA of below 4.00 , the candidate will be offered admission into the MPhil/Ph.D program.
