General Arts program has fifteen departments, within the Faculty of Social Science & Humanities. The degree is aimed particularly at the mature student. The History department at Lakehead aims to acquaint students with various approaches to the study of History and provide them with the skills to analyze any issue within its historical context. Geographically the courses encompass North America, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia, and the Circumpolar World.
