Nakhchivan State University (NSU) stands as one of Azerbaijan’s most distinguished higher education institutions, playing a central role in advancing academic excellence and contributing to the intellectual and cultural development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Today, NSU comprises 45 departments and a dedicated academic staff of 445 members, including highly honoured teachers, scientists, and artists. The university provides a diverse portfolio of academic programmes to approximately 9,600 students, including an expanding international student community, reflecting its growing global appeal.

In line with its commitment to continuous improvement and international standards, NSU has successfully integrated the Nakhchivan Music College into its academic structure. This strategic expansion has broadened the university’s academic scope, introducing 13 additional specialities in music education and strengthening its multidisciplinary environment with 178 additional teaching professionals.

These include the Diplomacy Center and Criminology Laboratory within the Faculty of International Relations and Law, the Technology and Shooting Centers in the Faculty of Pedagogy, and the Robotics Laboratory in the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering. Additional initiatives such as the STEAM Center, Pharmaceutical Simulation facilities in the Faculty of Medicine, and the “Green Pharmacy” units further strengthen hands-on learning and innovation.

The university continues to expand its international engagement through initiatives such as a dual degree programme with Çankırı Karatekin University in Turkey and a strategic collaboration with IBM. This partnership supports the development of a software engineering institute focused on key areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
