Master’s Degree in Economics (060404)

The master’s degree program in economics is designed in accordance with the national higher education standards of the Republic of Azerbaijan and aims to provide advanced academic knowledge, analytical skills, and professional competencies in the field of economics. The program prepares graduates for research-oriented, analytical, managerial, pedagogical, and policy-related careers in both public and private sectors at national and international levels.

The program has a duration of two academic years (120 ECTS credits) and offers a broad range of specializations, including but not limited to economic theory, econometrics, economic regulation, macroeconomic policy, economic modeling, labor economics, environmental economics, tourism economics, agrarian economics, valuation, and economic cybernetics.

Program Objectives

The primary objective of the program is to develop highly qualified economists who are capable of:

- Applying advanced theoretical and methodological approaches to economic analysis;

- Conducting independent and collaborative scientific research;

- Analyzing and regulating complex socio-economic processes at micro-, meso-, and macro-levels;

- Designing, implementing, and evaluating economic policies, programs, and development projects;

- Using modern quantitative, econometric, and information technologies in decision-making;

- Teaching economics-related disciplines in higher education institutions.
