With an emphasis on linguistic, cultural, and professional competencies, the Bachelor’s program in Translation (by Languages) is aimed at turning out the most qualified translators. The graduates of the program will be able to perform written and oral translations throughout different fields, e.g., socio-political, legal, economic, technical, and literary, since the program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training.
The curriculum encourages students to develop translation skills in at least two foreign languages, concentrating on Azerbaijani as the mother tongue and one or more foreign languages as languages of communication. Thus the graduates will be ready to take up jobs in various areas such as government, international organizations, media, business, and research.
