Master’s Degree in Philology (060201)
The master’s degree in philology is a two-year postgraduate academic program designed to provide advanced theoretical knowledge, research skills, and professional competencies in linguistics, literary studies, and related fields. The program is developed in accordance with national higher education standards and prepares graduates for research, teaching, and administrative roles in academic and cultural institutions.
The curriculum offers specialization in areas such as literary studies, Azerbaijani literature, Azerbaijani linguistics, and general linguistics across different languages and domains. It integrates humanities-based coursework with methodological training, research practice, and pedagogical development to ensure a comprehensive academic formation.
Throughout the program, students gain in-depth understanding of the historical development, theoretical foundations, and contemporary issues of philology. Emphasis is placed on critical analysis of literary texts, linguistic structures, comparative studies, folklore, classical and modern literature, translation studies, and intercultural communication.
