This program is aimed at implementing third-level higher professional education programs and is focused on training PhDs/doctors in the field who are capable of conducting scientific research, teaching, and professional activities in the field of biological sciences, taking into account the tasks of sustainable development and the green economy.

In the field of education:

– development of in-depth theoretical knowledge in biology and related fields of biological sciences (e.g., bioecology, biotechnology, bioengineering, laboratory work, etc.);

– developing systematic thinking and the ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines;

– mastering modern educational technologies and methods of teaching biological disciplines in higher education;

– preparing to develop and implement educational programs that include issues of sustainable development, environmental protection, and the green economy.

In the field of science:

– mastery of the methodology and methods of conducting fundamental and applied scientific research;

– ability to independently plan and conduct dissertation research on current issues in biology;

– development of skills in working with modern laboratory and field equipment;

– interpretation and systematization of scientific data, formulation of conclusions, participation in scientific discussions, publication of research results;

– development and implementation of biological approaches to solving problems of sustainable nature management, biosafety, and biodiversity conservation.

In the field of education:

– fostering research and professional ethics, scientific integrity, and social responsibility, including the prevention of plagiarism, misattribution of authorship, and unethical use of humans and animals in experiments

– fostering active citizenship and an ecological worldview

– training leaders of the scientific community who are capable of promoting green and sustainable approaches to natural resource management;

– developing communication and leadership skills for effective interaction in educational, scientific, and social environments;

– developing skills for preparing materials for publication and patenting in accordance with international quality standards.

The program takes into account structural, methodological, and organizational innovations at leading domestic and foreign universities, as well as current trends in the development of biological sciences and education. It is aimed at forming individual educational trajectories that provide for intellectual and personal development, as well as professional improvement in the chosen field of research.

The program focuses on integrating fundamental knowledge with practical skills in the following areas:

•    molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and bioengineering;

•    biotechnology and bioinformatics;

•    ecology, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable natural resource use;

•    physiology, microbiology, and biomedicine.

Graduates of the program are able to make a significant contribution to the development of national and international science, education, biotechnology, and environmental industries, as well as participate in the implementation of sustainable development strategies.

Selection is based on higher professional education, confirmed by a master's or specialist's degree in accordance with the Regulations for the training of doctors of philosophy (PhD) in the field, approved by Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 601 of 2020.
