The computer department is one the most important scientific departments in the faculty of Education in Tobruk University which tends to be a center for scientific and applied programs and educational services at the field of computers and its applications with continuous development that keep pace with the requirements and changes through all the times.
It also aspires to advance a distinguished position in the field of computer teachers’ preparation.
Mission
The computer department is committed to meet all quality standards to prepare, qualify and graduate a computer teacher who is able to perform his scientific and educational profession efficiently with distinction, adhering to moral values. Also, it seeks to serve and develop the community locally and regionally.
Objectives
1. Developing and updating scientific and applied curricula and courses in the field of computers and related sciences.
2. Establishing scientific communication with computer facultys and departments locally and internationally, with the aim of exchanging experiences, knowledge and activities in the field of computers.
3. Encouraging the department’s distinguished faculty members and students to produce research and participate in conferences and scientific seminars specialized in the field of computers.
4. Keeping pace with the times by following the rapid departments in the field of computers and its technologies.
5. Cooperating with all departments in the faculty in maintaining and developing computer equipment and accessories on a regular and ongoing basis.
6. Providing consultations, studies, and proposing appropriate solutions in the field of computers.
7. Coordination with the faculty administration and departments in designing an electronic library within the faculty.
8. Contributing in coordination with the faculty administration to highlight all activities and programs related to students and faculty members in the faculty.

The students must have a secondary school degree with a percentage not less than 65% in ether departments ( scientific or the literary one)
